- The Shop
Wooloomoolo Steakhouse, an independent group of celebrated premium steakhouses from Hong Kong, stakes its claim in Singapore by opening its first restaurant on Level Three of the Swissotel the Stamford.

The restaurant and bar is situated in a stunning locale with impressive views of the city. Comprising 6,300sq ft of wining and dining space, this stylish restaurant promises a memorable dining experience with its premium steak selection from Australia and US as well as an outstanding range of wines and cocktails.

The first design feature at the restaurant entrance to whet the diners’ appetite is the sleek window display of Wooloomooloo's jewels – the signature beef products.

Elegant furnishings and leather, upholstered seats, the restaurant is also decorated with neat wood piles.

A semi-private dining area is created using chain link curtains which afford diners a more intimate spot for private celebrations.

Wooloomooloo’s inviting ambience clearly benefits from the expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows that look out to the beautiful greenery lining Stamford Road and the scenic view of one of Singapore's oldest landmarks – St Andrew's Cathedral.

The 40-seater lounge is bathed in ambient lighting and cool jazz numbers start off the evening before the music progresses to more upbeat tunes. A feature of this area is the long communal Balinese Suar Wood table that seats 10.

Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Its medley of rosemary is simply irresistible. This bread tastes great as a side dish with any meal.

Spanish Ham Selection @ $38.00

A fine selection of ham, 20-24 months aged and 30-36 months aged Jamon Iberico, known as the finest ham in the world. Served with sundried tomatoes, olives, artichokes, piquillo peppers, Feta cheese and foccacia crackers. The platter is also available in the bar bites menu.

Tuna & Spanner Crab Tartare @ $29.00

The Tuna and Spanner Crab Tartare has a base of creamy avocado cubes, tangy orange slices, diced shallots and coriander, and is topped with lightly seasoned sweet Australian spanner crab and sashimi-grade yellow fin tuna. This refreshing dish is finished off with a dollop of crème fraiche and salmon roe for the perfect balance of sweet and savoury.

A hot favourite at Wooloomooloo restaurants in Hong Kong. This classic hors d’oeuvre is made using succulent chilled and shelled jumbo prawns and accompanied by a delightful homemade cocktail sauce peppered with horseradish, sweet chilli and Worchester sauce. Very appetizing!

From the Butcher's Block
Each cut of steak at Wooloomooloo is handpicked, cut in-house and prepared by caring, passionate and experienced hands. Head Chef Gerard Lewis and his well-trained team guarantee guests’ steaks are done just the way they like them. Each slab is flavoured with seasoned sea salt and broiled at 980 degrees Celsius inside the gleaming Southbend broilers from USA to attain the ideal medium-rare doneness which the chef recommends.

Every steak is served with four luxurious homemade sauces – Red Wine Madeira, Au Jus, Peppercorn and Mushroom as well as a choice of four gourmet mustards (Dijon, English, Granary and Green Peppercorn).

70-Day Grain Fed Australian Young Black Angus Tomahawk @ $125.00

This 70-day grain-fed, weighs between 1.1kg to 1.3kg with bone in and is served medium rare after 20 minutes in the broiler. Outer layer is dry and chewy, while insider is tender and raw on some part. Suitable for two,

The doneness was not consistent, some part was tender, while some was tough.

150-Day Grain Fed USDA Prime Rib Eye, 12-ounce @ $74.00

USDA Prime Beef Selection comprising the 150-day grain-fed, wet-aged Rib-Eye steak. This marvelously flavorful, juicy and tender steak are consistent. USDA Prime Ribeyes are sure to please. For an enhanced flavor, try dipping into the four luxurious homemade sauces.

Each bite is crunchy and soft. I love veggies, I would like to have more please.

Guests should leave room to indulge in the variety of 11 desserts at Wooloomooloo. Of course not all of them, but at least 1-2!

Meringue topped with fresh fruits and drizzled with tangy passionfruit coulis balance the sweet, light, delicate, crisp crust and a soft marshmallow like.

The Bread & Butter Pudding is a tad sweet but it definitely ends the meal on a sweet note.


- My Opinion
I enjoyed the delectable evening. A nice place to pamper yourself for a premium steak over a beautiful cityscape view.
