Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节) also known as the Moon Cake Festival or Chinese Lantern was created to coincide with the time of year where the moon is at its fullest and roundest - 5th day of the 8th lunar month, which this year falls on 30th September. The roundness of the moon symbolises unending family unity.
Parent will bring the little ones to lantern-toting or Families to take a stroll at Chinatown to see beautiful giant lantern displays in various shapes and sizes and watch performances. While some spent time with family members to enjoy tea with scrumptious mooncakes (thick pastry dough filled with traditional flavours like lotus and egg yolk or exotic varieties like durian, ice-cream and liquor).
This year, I had my first ice cream mooncake at Häagen-Dazs with Melissa and Hazel during a tasting.
Thereafter, I receive a box of snowskin mooncake from 2am Dessert Bar, a gift from Flame Tree.

Presented in a elegant white box, pretty and divinely tasty.
I am usually not fond of the snow skin mooncake as they are sugar overloaded. But this was sheer delight.

purple - crunchy praline paste and chocolate truffle, it has pop rock that will explode in your mouth.
With flavours like these, you can be sure you will finish the mooncake feeling just like the moon.
Then my company ordered 2 boxes of mooncakes for each of us, how sweet!
